Programming a dembow rhythm

1. Set the tempo to 88–100 BPM and put the kick on every beat.
2. The dembow snare pattern repeats every two beats: one hit on the last 16th of beat 1 (the 'a' in 1-e-and-a), then one on the 'and' of beat 2. That off-beat snare is what makes it sound like reggaeton.
3. Add the percussion on the gaps between the snares, quieter than the snare.
4. Keep the kick short if you use a long 808 or bass under it, so the low end doesn't stack.

Can I use these in a release?

Yes. Every sound here comes from a recording released under CC0 1.0 (public domain). Use it in commercial tracks, beats and videos, with no royalties and no credit required. The one thing you can't do is resell the sounds themselves as a sample pack. SOURCES.txt in the ZIP lists the original recording for each file. More on licensing.
