Building an amapiano groove
- Work at 112–115 BPM. Amapiano feels slow and wide; the energy comes from the swing, not the tempo.
- Keep the kick sparse, often just beats 1 and 3, and let the shakers and hand percussion carry the 16ths with a little swing (around 55–60%).
- The log drum is the signature sound. It is a pitched, percussive bass with a short attack and a glide. Play the bass sample as a melodic line and shorten each note so it bounces.
- Leave room above 100 Hz for the piano chords. Amapiano mixes are bass-heavy but uncluttered in the mids.

Can I use these in a release?
Yes. Every sound here comes from a recording released under CC0 1.0 (public domain). Use it in commercial tracks, beats and videos, with no royalties and no credit required. The one thing you can't do is resell the sounds themselves as a sample pack. SOURCES.txt in the ZIP lists the original recording for each file. More on licensing.
